Aegis of Kent relives the ’50s

Live music, dancing, and 1950s-style hors d’oeuvres and “mocktails” were part of the afternoon when Aegis Living staged its Jumpin’Jive Lounge at the Georgetown Ballroom in Seattle April 17.
The first event of Aegis’ three-part Blue Moon Series brought together senior residents of Aegis Living communities in Kent and throughout western Washington, reliving a time when they were starting families and careers, an Aegis spokesman said. They were invited to relax and enjoy the Bird Watchers band from their seats or while dancing with fellow residents and professional swing dancers.
Twelve residents from the Aegis Living of Kent facility, plus 20 relatives and staff members, were on hand for the festivities.
Dwayne Clark, chief executive officer of Aegis, said social activities are “an important part of senior health and wellbeing. We understand that despite the aches and pains of aging, or perhaps more serious health concerns, each resident represents a beautiful, smart, worthy person that events like these can help bring alive.”
Aegis Living offers 28 assisted-living and memory care communities in Washington, California and Nevada. The privately held company is headquartered in Redmond.
