U.S. Rep. Derek Kilmer will host a seminar on Alzheimer’s Aug. 20 at the Bremerton City Council chambers.
Organizers of the event, which is scheduled for 1 to 3 p.m., said it will highlight and solicit feedback on public policy priorities involving the disease, including the National Alzheimer’s Plan, an Alzheimer’s Disease Plan for Washington, and Voices for Better Health in Washington State. The latter is a new initiative to improve healthcare for older and disabled Washingtonians who qualify for Medicare and Medicaid.
Similar town hall-style meetings, organized through the Alzheimer’s Association, have been held recently throughout Washington, including Tacoma and Tukwila.
