A law library kiosk that helps the public do verified legal research locally is now located inside the Lakewood branch of Pierce County Library, thanks to a partnership between the library system (PCLS) and Pierce County Law Library.
A Pierce County Library card is not required to access the law library collection, which includes free access to electronic and printed resources such as online legal research, state laws, self-help guides and legal forms. Appointments for research assistance with a law librarian are also available.
The Lakewood library is at 6300 Wildaire Road SW. and is open seven days a week.
The library system’s Gig Harbor branch also has a law library kiosk. Having the kiosks “easily accessible in a public library brings legal resources to more people in a convenient place,†said Georgia Lomax, executive director of PCLS.
