Ballot clock is ticking

The general election ends Nov. 8, the date when ballots must be deposited in official dropboxes or postmarked for mailing back to county election departments.

Primary ballots were mailed to voters Oct. 21 by the counties. Voters in Pierce County and King County who don’t receive one or want election information can contact the Pierce County elections department at 253-798-8683 and auditor@piercecountywa.gov, or the King County department at 206-296-8683 and elections@kingcounty.gov.

Among other choices, voters are choosing a U.S. senator and U.S. representatives, as well as state legislators and Washington’s secretary of state. Depending on where they live, voters also are choosing local officials such as county council and judge and deciding funding measures for schools, parks, and fire districts.
