The Bethel School District is accepting applications from possible appointees to replace Warren Smith Sr. on the School Board.

Smith, who has resigned, is the board representative for Director District 1. Prospective applicants must live in that area.

Applications will be accepted until April 24 by e-mail at bmartin@bethelsd.org or postal mail at Superintendent, Bethel School District 516, 176th St. E., Spanaway, WA 98387.

The board is expected to appoint Smith’s successor by May 8, following interviews of applicants. The appointee can serve until the next School Board election in November 2019, when they can be a candidate.
