Making the Link, an annual showcase of care providers for older adults and individuals with disabilities, is scheduled for Oct. 17 at the Metro Parks STAR Center in Tacoma.
From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., more than 70 exhibitors and their services will be featured for in-home care, assisted and skilled-nursing facilities, elder law, equipment providers, healthcare insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, caregiving, emergency assistance, social service agencies, transportation providers, and funerals.
The event is free and open to the public, but is intended primarily for healthcare professionals, social workers, case managers, discharge planners and volunteers who work with individuals with disabilities and seniors. Attendees will receive a variety of resources and information, including a copy of the newest Pierce County edition of Where to Turn, the community resources guide published by Senior Media Services.
Making the Link is sponsored by Pierce County Aging and Disability Resources in collaboration with the Health Care Providers Council of Pierce County.
