Duea is LCSNW’s new CEO

David Duea has been named the new president and chief executive officer of Lutheran Community Services Northwest.
Duea, who began his duties July 1, was the choice of LCSNW’s board of directors after a nationwide search for a replacement for former CEO Roberta Nestaas, who retired at the end of June. Chairman Bill Brueggemann said board members “are excited by David’s energy, passion and experience.”
Before joining LCSNW, Duea was in his 13th year as CEO of HopeSparks, a non-profit human services agency in Tacoma.
LCSNW also is a non-profit human services agency, serving communities in Washington, Oregon and Idaho with programs for adults, adolescents, children, families and organizations. The agency’s offices include the South Puget Sound office in Tacoma, where programs for seniors are based.
Duea’s father, Bob Duea, was executive director of Lutheran Family Service of Oregon in the 1970s and ’80s.
Duea, who said he’s “honored to join the team” at LCSNW, lives with his family in Gig Harbor.
