Two events aimed at helping seniors prevent falls are scheduled this month in Gig Harbor:
- The Fall Prevention Expo on Sept. 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Harbor Place at Cottesmore, 1016 29th St. NW. Free screenings will include balance assessments, blood pressure checks, and hearing. Participating organizations include Harbor Place, Cottesmore of Life Care, Active Retirement and Senior Club of Gig Harbor, Advanced Health Care, Cascade Eye and Skin, Costless Pharmacy, Gig Harbor Fire and Medic One, Gig Harbor Lions, Olympic Pharmacy, Pierce County Aging and Disability Resources, Sound Advice Audiology, Visiting Angels, and Tom Taylor Family YMCA. - Fall Prevention Awareness on Sept. 28 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tom Taylor Family YMCA, located at 10550 Harbor Hill Dr. Presentations will include balance assessments and an obstacle course.
