MultiCare Health System and Medical Teams International announced in January they will offer free COVID-19 testing in south King County for vulnerable populations.
The first-come, first-served testing sites in Kent and Auburn are driveup or walkup and don’t require advance registration. No insurance, identification or fees are required, although insurance information will be collected if an individual has it.
The free service is scheduled for:
- New Beginning Church Fellowship at 19300 108th Ave. SE. in Kent, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 17 and April 21.
- Auburn 7th Day Adventist Church at 402 29th St. SE. in Auburn, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 2 and April 6.
COVID-19 precautions will be in place and will include a screening questionnaire and temperature checks. One patient at a time will be allowed in the clinic. No guests or family members will be permitted in the mobile clinic.
The same type of testing sites were offered in south King County 2020 by MultiCare, HealthierHere, and Medical Teams International. A spokesman said 770 people were served , almost doubling the goal of 400.
Due to the disproportionate effect of COVID-19 in that area, the goal of the testing is to target vulnerable populations, including low-income, disabled, homeless, and migrant workers.
