Free home repairs for elderly, low-income offered

Free home repairs are available for qualified low-income homeowners through local non-profit Rebuilding Together South Sound.

Organizers of the local project, an affiliate of Rebuilding Together Inc., plan to complete 15 critical home repair projects with the help of hundreds of volunteers on National Rebuilding Day next year.

During the work day scheduled for April 27, 2013, volunteers, local sponsors and community partners will work with low-income homeowners to help make their residences warm, safe and dry.

To be eligible for services, an applicant must own their home, be low-income and elderly, disabled or a family with children, and live in Pierce County, Federal Way or Auburn. Applications are due Dec. 1.
