From legal assistance to Medicare information to job hunting for mature workers, the Pierce County Library System (PCLS) offers resources, events and classes, and services to help seniors get their lives in order.

• Need to do some legal work? Conduct legal research at a Pierce County Law Library kiosk at the PCLS Gig Harbor and Lakewood branches. Available resources include legal forms, self-help legal guides, and online law databases. Book a personal appointment with a law librarian at 253-798-2691.
• Turning 65 soon? Bring your questions to one of eight “All Things Medicare” information sessions taking place at PCLS branches through December, presented by Sound Outreach and the Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors. The latter is a program of the state insurance commissioner.
• Need to register to vote? Online voter registration is open through Oct. 28. Free internet access is available at PCLS branches.
• Concerned age is impacting your job search? Participate in the “Job Hunting for Mature Workers” WorkSource workshop offered periodically at many PCLS branches.
• Interested in information about Alzheimer’s disease? PCLS has partnered with Pierce County Aging and Disabilities Resources, a county government program, to present free viewings and discussions of “Too Soon to Forget,” a documentary sharing the stories of families living with younger-onset Alzheimer’s.
