Tacoma, Bremerton ready for Walk to End Alzheimer’s

The Alzheimer’s Association’s annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s is scheduled this month in Tacoma and Bremerton on separate dates:

  • Sept. 11 at University of Puget Sound. Registration at 11 a.m., opening ceremony at 12 and the walk at 12:30. The fund-raising goal is $157,700.
  • Sept. 18 at Louis Mentor Boardwalk in Bremerton. Registration at 8 a.m., walk at 9:30. Fund-raising goal: $88,000.

Held each year in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Last year, the Tacoma walk generated $107,741, which was part of $77 million that was raised in the U.S. by Walk to End Alzheimer’s events, according to Alzheimer’s Association.
