A five-day candidate filing period for this fall’s election begins May 5.
From then through 5 p.m. on May 9, candidates can sign up with their county’s elections office to run for offices. The primary election is in August, with top finishers advancing to the general election in November.
In Pierce County, offices on the ballot include County Council, Charter Review Commission, school boards, port commissioner, city and town councils and mayors, and fire, park, water and sewer commissionrs. More information is at PierceCountyWA.gov/elections.
